The Roman Road
A Walk through scriptue to salvation
1. All have sinned
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
Romans 3:23
Every person falls short of God’s standard. Sin creates a separation between humanity and God.
2. Sin carries a cost
For the wages of sin is death.
Romans 6:23
The consequence of sin is death, a separation from God that no person can resolve alone.
3. God provides a gift
But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:23
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8
Eternal life cannot be earned; it is given freely. Christ died in the place of sinners while they were still sinners, demonstrating the love of God.
4. Salvation is received by faith
If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:9
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 10:13
Salvation comes through believing in the heart and confessing Jesus as Lord. It is open to everyone who calls on the name of the Lord.
5. Peace with God
Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:1
Those who are in Christ are justified by faith, have peace with God, and are free from condemnation.
Those who put their trust in Christ become part of God’s family.
